Asklipio castle
The Asklepeios castle is located in the of Asklipeios village in memory of god Asclepius. It was built in the 15th century on a hill and it is 250 metres high. It is surrounded by a wall 1.5 metres thick and inside there are ruins of buildings. It is located inland and quite far from the sea. The castle occupied a strategic position, protecting the village as it supervised a vast part of the coastline and could control the sea routes leading to Gennadi and to the south side of the island.
